Premium Fuel Formulation & Bioheat

We Are Your Green Energy Company We deliver the highest quality fuel. We help customers tap into a clean, renewable fuel supply with our Bioheat® Premium Fuel Formulation, which is a blend of traditional heating oil and biofuel made from natural sources. We treat every gallon of our fuel with a specially formulated additive package that cleans the equipment and promotes efficient operation.

Bioheat We first began providing Bioheat in 2006. In virtually every instance, BioHeat® has proven to be better at achieving cleaner and improved combustion for your heating system than the use of conventional heating oil alone. Additionally it will:
  • Help to reduce our reliance on foreign imports with a "renewable" domestic alternative.
  • Burn cleaner, producing fewer emissions of sulfur oxide, nitrogen oxide, carbon dioxide and particulates.
  • Increase system efficiency - conventional heating oil alone leaves behind sulfur deposits and a trail of costly maintenance, but a Bio-Blend actually dissolves these sediments, improving efficiency and extending the life of your heating system
family house Our oil is treated with advanced additives that clean your equipment and promote efficient operation. Our Premium Fuel Formulation is designed to prolong the life of your oil tank by breaking down sludge and sediments and reducing biological infestation - all of which contribute to corrosion in the tank. The benefits of our Premium Fuel Formulation increases over time, so the longer you are a customer, the better off the oil in your tank will be!! Our Premium Fuel Formulation also reduces service calls for clogged nozzles.

What Is a 'Degree Day?'

A "degree day" is a measure of heating or cooling that we use to calculate the amount of oil remaining in a customer's tank. Here is a simple explanation of how we use Degree Day and K factor to track fuel usage.

house In the oil delivery business calendar days mean nothing in terms of calculating the deliveries, and a Degree Day means everything. As an example if on a winter day the high temperature is 30 degrees and the low temperature is 0 degrees the average temperature would be 15 degrees. You would subtract 15 from 65 (the temperature above which no heat is needed) you come up with 50, which means during that day 50 degree days have elapsed.

In our case the actual degree days are calculated by a sophisticated "degree day clock" at our office which takes into consideration all the factors that affect degree days, such as the actual number of hours at any given temperature. Should their be a period of inconsistent consumption, we can install a VisiTank system as additional protection.

Based on past deliveries every customer has a K factor, this is the number of degree days which elapse for every gallon of oil your burner consumes. For instance if you took the above example of 50 degree days over 24 hours and the house had a K factor of 6, you would use 8.3 gallons of oil during that period. If your house had a K factor of 10 you would use 5 gallons during the same period. If your house had a K factor of 1 you would burn 50 gallons that day. The higher the K factor the less oil you consume. Our area typically has somewhere around 6,000 degree days per year, so the house with a K factor of 6 should use about 1,000 gallons per year. Likewise a house with a K factor of 10 would use about 600 gallons per year, and the house with a K factor of 1 would use about 6,000 per year.

Tank Sure

TankSure Oilheat customers may worry about an older oil tank, because they have no way of knowing its condition or when they should replace it. We eliminate those concerns with our TankSure program, which provides ultrasonic testing of the tank walls and up to $1,000 credit towards tank replacement.

VisiTank Monitoring

Visi Tank In the event of inconsistent consumption, Servco can install a VisiTank® system, which provides remote monitoring of your oil tank and oil burner. The threat of fuel run-outs and frozen pipes is virtually eliminated, because VisiTank alerts our office if the supply runs low or the burner fails. If you travel during winter, VisiTank can help you relax on the road, knowing that we will be alerted to any potential problem.

Wireless Temperature Sensors

If your home is sometimes unoccupied, for an additional layer of protection, we can install wireless temperature sensors in one or more rooms. VisiTank system will send an alert if the temperature drops below a predetermined minimum. A central alarm unit alerts our office so we can investigate immediately and resolve the problem. It's an easy, affordable way to protect an unoccupied home from burst pipes and other weather-related damage.
